Hi, I’m Peter. Furniture restoring enthusiast!

Following a move to the country side of North Yorkshire we bought a farm cottage in need of updating. Our modern furniture didn’t suit or fit so we started again. We just could not find quality, traditional furniture that wasn’t brown or too ornate.

I stumbled across a furniture shop that sold secondhand pieces and spotted an Ercol dresser that immediately took my eye. It was traditional looking but had a simplicity about it. I also noticed the quality of the construction too.

This was my first refurbishment, not knowing there would be much more to come. The result was perfect having painted it to match our hand built kitchen. Then came our dining room refectory table and chairs, sideboard and another glass fronted dresser.

I then started to buy pieces from various sources to refurbish and resell. The response was very complimentary and my feedback extremely positive, which still continues today.

This website was my next step as it allows me to become more interactive with my customers. My customers can call in, view my work without any obligation or just have a friendly chat about a piece of furniture they are interested in.

I take my work seriously so time is not compromised in any of my refurbishments. It’s true, the preparation is vital to the finish and that’s why I spend time at this important stage. I am particular in choosing the best products and equipment and always on the lookout to further improve and experiment with design and aesthetics.
